Travel List

My Travel List
From: Heri
Location: Alabama

Hi everyone! I'm still here in Alabama with Anna Marie. Soon, I'll be sharing what we've all been up to here! But right now? My travel list keeps getting longer and longer, so thought I'd share my newest additions with you. Any of you tracking my adventures on a map? How many miles have I traveled? (LOTS!) :)

I've already written a list of all the places I'd visited - and all the POH Hostesses I'd met - starting way back on the 16th of January - and coming forward up to the 22nd of March. If you want to see those again? (Look at me - I've learned what my blog looks like! LOL) Click on April in my blog Archives then scroll down to my journal entry called Where I've Been so Far

Now it's time for another travel list since I can bare-ly .. er .. bear-ly keep track! :)

Date - Locations - Hello & Goodbye's to POH Hostesses

  • 10 April - Left Florida. Thanks, MzBJ!
  • 13 April - Arrived in Kansas. Hello, Liz!
  • In April – Visited Missouri while staying in Kansas.
  • 1 May - Left Kansas. Thanks, Liz!
  • 5 May – Arrived in Alabama. Hello, Anna Marie!

  • Just for fun? Here are all the states I've seen so far: Alabama, Florida (twice), Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Oregon, Tennessee & Wisconsin.

I've met several POH Hostesses: MizViki, Laurie, Regina, Diedra, MzBJ, Liz and now Anna Marie.

So my travel list - that I never imagined I'd ever have - comes down to this:
  • I've seen ten U.S. states
  • I've met seven members of the Preserving_Our_Heritage yahoogroup - my POH hostesses
  • I've been on the road for just under four months now!

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you ... for giving this little bear the opportunity to have my very own Traveling Heritage Express

    Your very own,
    Heri Poh

KS and MO memories - Part 3

    Journal Entry - 8 May 2006
    From: Liz
    Location: Kansas

And here are the last two photos.

Heri and the Red Hat Society

He really enjoyed having lunch with the funny ladies that wear purple outfits & red hats!

    And the last photo:
    Ronald McDonald House Volunteer Luncheon

Look just to the left of the flower on the table, and you'll see Heri.

Also at the table? Liz (me!) and my daughter Lisa

These 2 photos complete the wonderful images of Heri's time here. It's sort of sad not to know there are more coming! It means he's not here anymore.

Heri, when you see all these, I hope they bring back happy memories for you!

KS and MO memories - Part 2

Journal Entry for 8 May 2006
    From: Liz
    Location: Kansas

Here I am again with more photos to surprise Heri with! This time, instead of "part 2", it could be called Ducks and Soccer! Better get right at it though. We never know when Heri might be sitting on Anna Marie's shoulder in AL .. getting online!

First up - here's Heri watching the ducks in the creek

Look closely and you'll see him sitting on the ground in the lower right corner.

Here's Heri sitting on the picnic table. No ducks there. But he watched them in the creek from there. He looks like he was enjoying the day, doesn't he?

Now we move to Ashley's soccer game

There's Heri and flat Stanley with Ashley and her soccer friends.

    Heri - Joker - Laura
    at the soccer game.

Heri said that Laura's therapy dog is friendly and well-behaved.

Just one more set to go. Might just get this done before Heri logs onto the computer after all. :)

I'm so glad to hear Heri has made it safely from my house in Kansas - over to Anna Marie's in Alabama. Even though Heri has left, he lives on here. I've got some photos now - just back from developing. Think I'll call this KS and MO Memories!. Won't Heri be surprised to check his blog from AL and see these? :)

So, let's start down memory lane with our visit to Ronald McDonald House

Heri volunteers at Ronald McDonald House

Liz with hair down & Dustyn house manager

Donor Wall at Ronald McDonald House

This great display was created by an artist at Hallmark Cards.

And here's our very own Heri Poh sitting inside the Ronald McDonald House with none other than Ronald McDonald! They make a great pair, don't you think?

I have two more little sets of Heri photos to share with you, so read on through Heri's blog .. for more "Kansas and Missouri Memories" :)

    Heri is in Alabama!

Journal Entry for 7 May 2006
    From: Anna Marie
    Location: Alabama

Heri Poh made it to Alabama on Friday, May 5th

We were very busy with a graduation prep and then the ceremony, so just now writing a quick journal entry to let everyone know he's here - safe and sound.

Heri enjoyed watching Matt walk across the stage and was proud of his accomplishment too. Heri had a photo taken with the new graduate, but as its regular 35mm film it will be a few days til we get the prints back. I'll scan and send sometime next week.

He'll get to make 2 trips to the VA hospital with us - 250 miles each day - hope he doesn't get carsick!! LOL

Movie - volunteer luncheon - "on the road" KS to AL

Journal Entry for tuesday, 2 May 2006
    From: Liz
    Location: Kansas

Yes, you read that right. Not Heri, but Liz. Heri left for Alabama late Monday afternoon, May 1st.

On the day before he left - Sunday - 30 April

Gary & I took Heri to the movies We saw "Friends With Money ." All three of us highly recommend that you DO NOT see this movie. Don't waste your time or money. Everyone was shaking their heads as we walked out of the theatre saying what was that movie about?

Afterwards we went to Red Robin for a hamburger Heri really enjoyed that.

    Yesterday - monday - 1 May

Lisa & I took Heri to the Ronald McDonald Volunteer Luncheon They always take us through the designers showhouse first. It's a lot of walking because the house is large and always has an upstairs. Heri liked the three sun rooms the best. After the tour there is a big tent in the back yard for our lunch, which was very tasty. Heri liked the heart shaped cookies This year for a present they gave us a little spiral notebook. I will be using mine to jot down my memories for my BOM

After our luncheon Heri was packed and off to the post office I told him he will like Alabama. That's where my father's family (in MO) came from.

I'm going to have to catch up on my rest now. That little Heri has a lot more energy than I have Anna Marie & her husband are at the VA today & tomorrow, but her son will be there to greet Heri.

I should have some pictures to share in a day or two (after resting!). :)

    Liz
PS - Heri? If you see this? When Anna Marie gets home (and maybe after her son's graduation) let us all know how you are doing in AL. Have fun!
