Florida Vacation Memories - Part 3
Hi everyone. Heri here.
Hope you're all enjoying all the fun things we did in Florida! Regina sure knows how to give a bear a vacation! But wait, it's not over! In fact, I remember well waking up one fine sunny day singing Happy Birthday to Me! at the top of my lungs. Wellll .. actually .. it was Danielle's birthday! But hey, at least I was in high spirits! Ok, let me take you back to:
Journal Entries from Feb 22nd
It's 83 degrees! You know, I never knew much about weather changes & seasonal clothing when I was just sitting on my store shelf! I'm sure finding out though! But no time to be thinking about all that. Today, we're off to MGM studios!.
Being an artist, this is Darin's favorite place. We watched a car stunt show, how Disney characters are made, and I got to try my hand at drawing. Everyone is dragging after two days of walking, but we continued on and on and on and on through all the streets and sites.
We have lunch at the ABC Commissary, and decide to head to the hotel at 4:00 to change clothes for Danielle's special dinner. We hitched a ride on a monorail to go to the Grand Floridian Hotel for dinner.
What a beautiful Hotel! Very fancy. We're early so we checked out their gift shop for a few minutes. For dinner? My favorite kind of meal - a BUFFET!. Prime rib, turkey, salmon, potatoes, vegetables and of course 14 kinds of dessert. A bear can eat a great deal here! (And I did just that!) :)
Danielle's Birthday Dinner
Evening Surprises!
This is The Day That Never Ends! or so it seemed to all of us! Dinner was great, but what came next was magical. Back on the monorail - and back to Magic Kingdom. It's a huge place, so we checked out some stores we missed, but it was way too crowded to get on any rides.
Whoa! There's Cinderella!!!! And look - the Prince, Fairy Godmother, Suzy and that other mouse that pulled the carriage. "Hey Cinderella - over here - see me? Well, she didn't - but we're all too busy to worry about that. Something's up. Everyone is lining up! We find a chair at one of the cafe's have a drink and wait.
Ooooooooohhhh .. it's a PARADE! Hard to see everything but there's Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, the Three Pigs and more. Everything's all lit up in bright lights - all traveling towards the castle. (Wouldn't it be fun to explore a castle, one day?)
As the parade carries on in all its glory, we have some personal adventures right where we're sitting!
In front of us is a little area of water that leads into the park - and we meet a duck. No, not Donald. Darin names him Fred. Darin feeds him some of Danielle's cake even though a sign in front of him says don't feed the wildlife. (Don't tell anyone, ok?) Fred likes Darin so much he climbs onto the grass and tries to get over the fence to see us.
Ummm .. back to the parade!
Forget Fred! Look - it's Tinkerbell in the sky flying down from the castle. Fireworks! Oh, and there's everyone's favorite song, "If you Wish Upon a Star". Very magical indeed with the night air, and all the children around. What a great finish for a birthday party.
We go back to our hotel room - tired but happy. Danielle opens some gifts we snuck in the car. She introduces me to some lovely ladies named Jasmin and Chloe. Not sure why they call them Brats, they were very friendly to me. Then, we all went off to bed. One more day to get in the rest of the sites.
Love, Heri
