Florida Vacation Memories - Part 1

Hi everyone, Heri here again.

So, this is what it's like to look back over time and find and share memories? I think I like the idea! Looking at my journal, sifting through the photos is bringing those happy days in February right back into my mind and filling my heart with joy! Maybe you'll enjoy the fun too, so here's "day one" of my vacation with Regina & her family.

Journal Entry for Feb 20, 2006

Breakfast at the resort at 7am. We were all anxious to get started. Waffles, French Toast, and OJ on the menu. We got on a big bus with lots of other people and headed for the Animal Kingdom.

Wow, this place was big! Beautiful birds that talked. Rhinos, Giraffes, Zebras, a Lion and Alligators. I was almost eaten by a gator! Darin saved me only after he got his picture! We took a wonderful safari ride. Danielle was scared I'd fall out so she made it hard for anyone to get any good pictures of me. At one part the bridge started falling apart as we drove over it, I though for sure we would get wet.

Like my new hat? Thank Mr. Potato head for this one. Here's a pic back at the Pop Century Resort. You can see "the big guy" in it. It's even more fun exploring new places when wearing a new hat! (I'm grinning as I write that!)

After spending most of the day at Animal Kingdom, we have lunch at a wonderful café that had beautiful murals on the walls. We decide it's time to visit the Magic Kingdom

The Castle is really decorated up for their 50th Celebration. Lots of people everywhere. I think I've heard at least four languages today. We are thinking of staying for fire works tonight, but first a few rides, shows, and shopping! Thank Mr. Potato head again for my mouse ears

Back to the present time - April 2nd

Wow, it's fun to re-live this all over again. I wrote in my journal every day, so my words were here and the details still fresh. Thank you, Regina for those photo collages. Um, or maybe those are scrapbook layout pages? Well, I'll get the hang of it after spending more and more time with you folks! :) Know you had to send in to have the film developed, Regina, and then just look how you arranged them so nicely into those great pages I just shared. What a gift you've given me - that now, I've been able to share with anyone who happened to read this travel blog. Life memories. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Heri
