Last Day in Michigan
Hi to all! Heri here.
Since I've been telling you all about my Florida vacation with Regina & her family with you - then our over 1000 mile journey back to Michigan, thought I'd share next my very last day in Michigan. Did we sit around and rest? Of course not! Come along with me as I share my journal entries (and another of Regina's lovely scrapbook pages) with you!
Journal Entry for Sunday, Feb 26th
My Last Day in Michigan
Hey, what happened? It was over 80 degrees in Florida and now it's down to 17 degrees here in Michigan? Brrrrrrrrrrrr!!
More adventures today though! I visited the Historical Cemetery that Regina has worked in for the last few years - recording and photographing stones I'm learning a lot about the many ways you humans preserve your heritage.
What a peaceful place. Cemeteries are generally scary places but this one begs to be visited and cared for. Mark's family, were early settlers of the town they live in, and most if not all are related in some way to Mark and the family. (Regina says "She's still researching" I have a funny feeling that most people into genealogy and tracing their family history say that!) Here at the cemetery, I can see gravesites for veterans from every single war .. including the American Revolution. Regina tells me that was way back in the 1700s. No wonder they call this a historic cemetery!
Guess you can see from the scrapbook page, that the cemetery wasn't my only stop today. My last adventure was going through a car wash!. This was kind of scary with the water and big rags and vacuums! My host thought I'd like to see everything so she put me up on the dash to watch.
Well - like I said - "last day in Michigan". I'm packed and ready to head to Wisconsin to meet Deidra.
Talk to everyone soon,
Heri-Poh
